Gone West:

Sadly, Clayton Scott passed away September 28, 2006 at the age of 101. Well known in the aviation community, he owned all of the five Howard Type Certificates for a total of 47 years, from 10/56 until 10/2003 (when the Howard Aircraft Foundation bought them from him). Link to his obituary.

Arthur I. Hall, Lt/Col USAF (and Member of the Howard Aircraft Foundation) passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009. He was born August 4, 1924 in Elyria, Ohio. He had an avid interest in aviation since childhood with his twin brother, Arch. He served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He was an Air Force Fighter Pilot, and gained the rating of Command Pilot. His second career was at Lockheed Martin as a Design Engineer until retiring in 1990. He authored Howard's Golden Age, a technical/autobiographic novel that exemplified his passion for Aviation History, Design, and Air Racing.
